SEASCAPE: Ethereal Waters
These fine art seascape photographs capture an ethereal feeling transfixed in an extended moment of time.
Zen master Sen no Rikyu observed “waters are nature’s storehouse in which she locks up her wonders.” Sen no Rikyu trans formative practice of the tea ceremony evolved into “wabi” an aesthetic that values sober refinement, subdued taste, shows restraint and seeks simplicity also known to celebrate imperfection and asymmetry.
Here in these photographs the “wabi” of water can be seen in the River Thames River, the Grand Canal, Hawaiian coast, Silver Lake and the Italian Riviera.
